Job Title: SEN Tutor - Newbury

Young Giants Ltd is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to support learners in Newbury. As a managed education service, we provide holistic and inclusive term-time tuition and mentoring to children who are temporarily out of school.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified teacher or tutor with a sound understanding of delivering tuition to young people with SEN, including ASD/ASC, ADHD, and SEMH. The successful candidate will be able to travel to the Newbury location and commit to a fixed timetable for at least a whole academic term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one tuition and mentoring to learners with SEN in their homes or community venues
  • Work closely with our team to assess and maintain effective and needs-based programmes of education support
  • Commit to a fixed timetable for at least a whole academic term
  • Travel to the Newbury location
Person Specification
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or strong youth work experience/qualification
  • Minimum 2 years teaching or mentoring learners with SEND in schools, youth groups, or private settings
  • Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or willingness to have one carried out at a cost of £53.20
  • Commitment to the overall academic development of learners, including working to re-engage them in learning
  • Ability to travel to the Newbury location
  • Secure understanding of safeguarding
