**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately overseeing the company's financial transactions, developing budgets and forecasts, preparing financial reports, and monitoring all transactions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Maintain accurate transaction records
- Review, approve, and process invoices and timesheets, and prepare financial statements
- Reconcile banking and conduct financial audits
- Prepare budgets and review the company's financial policies
- Ensure all legal requirements are met
- Process payroll and be a point of contact for various stakeholders
- File for the accountant, including tax returns, companies house, HMRC, and end-of-year financial reports
- Complete any ad-hoc duties as requested by the senior management team
**Requirements:**
- Experience with software such as Xero or Sage (training will be provided for our operational systems)
- Maths and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Good knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
- Knowledge of financial regulations and laws
- Proven work experience as an Accounts or Finance Assistant
- BSc or AAT Level 2
- Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA highly desirable but not essential
