About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Hydrogeologist to lead our team in Melbourne, Derbyshire. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our next growth phase and contributing to the company's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a collaborative team of skilled hydrogeologists, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Provide expert advice on all facets of groundwater management, including abstraction licensing, pollution control, and monitoring.
  • Ensure clients are equipped to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while sustainably optimising their water resources.
  • Undertake comprehensive hydrogeological assessments, including water resource, impact, and risk assessments.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in hydrogeology and related fields, sharing acquired knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgetary constraints, and uncompromising standards of quality.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for business growth and tailoring our services to meet evolving client needs.
Requirements
  • A postgraduate degree in hydrogeology, geology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in hydrogeology, including experience in managing projects and leading teams.
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g. Geological Society, Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management).
  • Excellent technical knowledge of hydrogeology, including groundwater resource assessments, impact assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience of managing projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience of identifying and developing business opportunities.
  • UK Driving Licence required.
