Job Summary

South Shore Health System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Management
    • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
    • Conduct medication reconciliation and ensure accurate documentation.
    • Verify narcotic counts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Patient Care Planning
    • Develop and update individualized patient care plans, incorporating patient and family preferences.
    • Assess and document patient needs, including pain management and comfort.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Safety and Quality
    • Verify patient identification and ensure accurate documentation before administering care or medications.
    • Adhere to hand hygiene guidelines and universal precautions to prevent infection.
    • Maintain a safe environment, adhering to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with evidence-based practices, research, and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Technology and Compliance
    • Utilize electronic medical records and other technology to streamline workflows and improve patient care.
    • Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.

    • Utilize resources, such as interpreter services, to ensure effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Experience
    • Previous acute care RN experience preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications
    • RN - Registered Nurse.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Emergency Response Training Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification may be required.
