Operating independently within the Legal framework, the Ethics & Compliance team empowers team members to confidentially voice concerns, thereby reinforcing a culture of openness. The team is also responsible for investigating potential misconduct and ensuring the protection of whistleblowers.
We are seeking an Ethics & Compliance Manager to assist in the ongoing execution of Deliveroo's global ethics and compliance initiatives. This role will involve driving critical workstreams, supporting new business initiatives, and investigating and addressing compliance-related issues.
The ideal candidate will possess a knack for solving complex challenges, a willingness to engage creatively with stakeholders, and a desire to develop a robust and innovative compliance framework, all while maintaining a strong sense of purpose.
This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring presence in a Deliveroo office three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Deliveroo's ethics and compliance initiatives across various international jurisdictions, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance our compliance systems and controls;
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks across diverse business functions and regions;
- Continuously monitor and audit internal processes, adapting to changes in compliance regulations and laws, and report findings to Legal leadership;
- Perform desktop due diligence on supply chains and partners;
- Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures to align with evolving regulatory requirements;
- Deliver training and communications on compliance policies and procedures, ensuring employees understand their obligations and ethical standards;
- Conduct internal investigations regarding alleged breaches of rules, regulations, or policies, and implement measures to uphold Deliveroo's Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
- Experience in compliance, auditing, or legal roles within a fast-paced, multinational organization, demonstrating a strong record of execution and delivery;
- Proven ability to work with global stakeholders across various functions and levels;
- A university degree, preferably in Law;
- Familiarity with the Bribery Act, Criminal Finances Act, International Sanctions, Anti-Money-Laundering laws, and/or the Modern Slavery Act;
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous;
- Experience in conducting internal investigations and developing measures to enforce the Company's Code of Conduct;
- A curious mindset with a willingness to learn and a readiness to tackle various tasks.
- A practical, innovative, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving and compliance risk mitigation.
