Overview

The Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing team, ensuring that all production processes are executed efficiently, timely, and within budgetary constraints while adhering to quality standards.

Team Leadership

  • Strategically plan and allocate resources within a complex manufacturing setting to fulfill current and anticipated production demands.
  • Guarantee that product quality consistently aligns with customer expectations.
  • Cultivate a team of Cell Leaders through effective management practices, including personal and team development, performance assessments, functional training, and engagement strategies to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct training and development sessions as necessary.

Production Efficiency

  • Supervise the Cell Leaders to ensure their areas operate effectively and efficiently, delivering products on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams for problem resolution when necessary.
  • Promote evidence-based problem-solving within the team to ensure proactive and robust issue resolution.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team, driving continuous improvement to meet established targets.
  • Manage manufacturing constraints to ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost and quality standards.
  • Optimize resource allocation and cell layout to align with production and business requirements.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with the company's quality management system, including ISO9001 standards.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit actions.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the production teams, enhancing productivity through best practice manufacturing principles.
  • Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing output.
  • Support productivity and workplace organization improvements, including 5S and LEAN methodologies.
  • Develop and implement best practice documentation and processes.

New Product Introduction Support

  • Assist in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, managing production impacts in collaboration with Cell Leaders.

Financial Management

  • Collaborate with the Finance team to develop and manage budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee budget management within the designated area.
  • Work with Engineering to prepare and manage the capital expenditure (CAPEX) budget.

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the operational strategy for the success of the RF Power division, in collaboration with other teams and managers.

Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibility

The role also encompasses responsibilities for Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) standards, including:

  • Advocating for adherence to health and safety standards, procedures, and company policies.
  • Addressing and reporting unsafe or non-compliant situations.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to the safety and well-being of colleagues and proactively escalating potential health and safety concerns.
  • Supporting and promoting the company's Safety, Health, and Environment Leadership Team (SHELT) program to enhance OHSE culture and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience in managing teams within complex manufacturing environments.
  • A successful history of applying continuous improvement, problem-solving, quality management, and change management techniques to achieve operational efficiencies.
  • Practical knowledge of relevant business metrics to drive sustained performance improvements.
