We are pleased to announce a new opportunity for a Skin Cancer and Systemic Treatment Support Coordinator to join our dedicated team.
This position entails collaborating within a nurturing team atmosphere, where you can significantly impact the lives of patients battling cancer and their families.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication abilities, advanced IT proficiency, and experience in supporting senior nursing staff. You will play a crucial role in ensuring patients are on the correct treatment pathway and are seen by the appropriate clinician within the designated timeframe. Responsibilities include supporting the skin cancer team, participating in patient tracking lists, and coordinating with specialized treatment centers.
Proficiency in Excel is essential for generating reports and conducting audits. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of skin cancer treatment pathways are required. IT literacy is critical, as you will be responsible for documenting sensitive information across various computer systems.
The primary focus of this role is to facilitate a seamless service for patients across our healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, modify, cancel, and reconcile appointments using Microsoft Outlook and internal systems, while maintaining communication with patients as necessary.
- Oversee the Somerset Remote Monitoring System, ensuring accurate tracking of attendance and outcomes for appointments, and follow up with patients who miss their scheduled visits.
- Monitor diagnostic tests through hospital systems to guarantee timely communication of results to patients.
- Identify patients requiring follow-up investigations to ensure adherence to established guidelines.
- Address and resolve patient inquiries regarding their treatment schedules and general questions, while triaging calls for the Clinical Nurse Specialist team and directing clinical queries to the appropriate personnel.
- Support the Patient Care Follow-Up (PCFU) program by adopting a positive and adaptable approach to workload and shift patterns.
