Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team at Marlborough Highways. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of vehicles and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake scheduled and ad-hoc repair, servicing, and maintenance of heavy and light commercial vehicles across our five depots.
  • Workshop-based, with time spent on-site carrying out routine maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with a small team to ensure repairs are completed promptly and accurately recorded within our electronic system.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards.
  • Prepare and present vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection.
  • Diagnose and repair faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Attend breakdowns and rectify defects.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to H&S requirements.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed.
Requirements
  • Hold a qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance (desirable).
  • Experience in a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance environment.
  • Strong technical background and ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively.
  • Previous working experience as a HGV Mechanic.
  • Full UK driving license essential.
  • HGV license preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in plant mechanics (desirable).
