Integration Specialist

**Role Purpose:**
The Enterprise Integration Expert will assist with the implementation, development, and support of integration platforms for enterprise software applications within assigned business areas. This role involves designing and developing technical software solutions based on business requirements, supporting user testing, and producing relevant documentation. The role holder will provide 1st and 2nd line support for IT services, troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Specialist Advice: Provide expert advice in one or more specialist areas, consolidating expertise from multiple sources.
- Systems Integration and Build: Define integration builds, produce software builds, configure hardware environments, and conduct tests.
- Data Modelling and Design: Investigate corporate data requirements and apply data analysis, design, and modeling techniques.
- Systems Design: Adopt appropriate systems design methods, undertake impact analysis, and review systems designs.
- Database Design: Provide guidance on database and data warehouse architectures and ensure design policies support performance and availability.
- System Software: Evaluate new system software, plan installations, and testing, and ensure operational documentation is current.
- Problem Management: Initiate actions to resolve system, process, and service problems.
- Incident Management: Prioritize and diagnose incidents, facilitate recovery, and document resolutions.
- Release and Deployment: Assess release components, carry out builds and tests, and ensure release processes are maintained.
- Application Support: Manage application enhancements, advise on security and backups, and handle support requests.
- Learning Delivery: Customize and deliver learning activities to promote skill and knowledge transfer.
- Networking: Actively contribute to the IT community to share knowledge and best practices.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience building complex system integrations in a heterogeneous environment.
- Mentoring junior team members.
- Managing technical activities and client teams.
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop digital products and services.
- Delivering technology change at a tactical or operational level.
- Sharing technical knowledge to support colleagues and users.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of system integration methods and technologies (e.g., Web services, SOAP, JSON, XML, automation tools).
- Familiarity with event-driven systems, orchestration, and exception handling.
- Experience with Microsoft integration technologies (e.g., Azure Integration Services).
- Proficiency with Microsoft reporting technologies (e.g., PowerBI, Azure Synapse).
- Understanding of enterprise architecture and data standards.
- Proficiency in system and database design, SQL, and performance tuning.
- Awareness of data and system security.
- Understanding of ITIL incident and problem management concepts.
General Skills:
- Strong planning and relationship-building skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain and develop knowledge in their field.
