Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our bank of casual staff at St Monica Trust. As a Bank Nurse, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that suit your lifestyle and work in a variety of settings within our care homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to residents, assessing and monitoring their needs, and undertaking clinical procedures and administering medication.
  • Lead by example and advocate a holistic approach to care, working collaboratively with the wider care home team.
  • Take charge of admissions, discharges, complex clinical care needs, medical emergencies, and end-of-life care.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including GPs, pharmacists, residents, and their relatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of clinical care, including care plans, audits, incidents, and changes to health and well-being.
  • Take on leadership roles, covering more senior posts when required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualified and NMC Registered Nurse (adult level 1)
  • Working knowledge of CQC Regulations, Infection Control, Medication, GDPR, NMC standards, and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Experience working with older people, those with disabilities, and/or dementia.
  • Experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, sheltered housing, or social care settings.
  • Experience conducting clinical audits and risk assessments.
  • Experience writing and reviewing care plans.
  • Knowledge of good practice in health and safety, first aid, moving and handling, and infection control.
  • Experience keeping accurate records.
  • In-depth understanding of the ageing process.
Desirable
  • Completion of Supporting Students in Practice or willingness to complete.
  • Working towards further professional qualifications.
  • People management skills.
  • Experience with quality assurance systems.
  • Experience reviewing and developing internal practices and policies.

Shifts are as and when required, with a competitive hourly rate of £21.91 plus enhancements for bank and weekend shifts.
