We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Practice Assistant to join our team at Sutton Primary Care Networks. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our General Practitioners in the smooth running of their clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to General Practitioners, including sorting and prioritizing clinical post, and signposting to other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Extract information from clinical letters and add to patient notes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments for patients, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare teams.
- Prepare patients for consultations, taking brief histories and basic readings as required.
- Perform basic clinical duties, including dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy.
- Complete basic forms and core elements of more complex forms for General Practitioners to approve and sign.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining treatment procedures and providing reassurance.
- Support General Practitioners in liaising with outside agencies, including arranging admissions and seeking advice from on-call doctors.
- Assist with immunizations and wound care, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a General Practice environment.
- Strong administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, General Practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
