The Royal Household operates various retail outlets, including seasonal and permanent locations, as well as an expanding online platform. Our retail operations offer a diverse selection of merchandise, from exclusive porcelain and jewelry to postcards and memorabilia. All profits generated from these sales are reinvested into the preservation and care of the remarkable Royal Collection.
As the Retail Manager overseeing multiple locations in London, your primary focus will be on driving sales and optimizing performance, while leading a committed team to create an exceptional shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Visitor Operations department to ensure outstanding service at every stage of the visitor experience.
- Mentor, train, and support your team to ensure they excel in their roles, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
- Utilize data-driven insights to establish targets and budgets, manage inventory levels, and create visually appealing store displays in partnership with central teams.
- Oversee the planning and execution of seasonal activities, including the setup and successful operation of temporary retail spaces, demonstrating strong project management capabilities.
- Ensure the secure and efficient operation of shop floors, maintaining compliance with retail procedures, stock management, financial protocols, and technology usage.

Candidate ProfileEssential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail management, with a track record of driving sales through exceptional customer service and a strong commercial focus.
- Experience in budgeting and target setting, with innovative strategies to surpass sales objectives and key performance indicators.
- Strong numerical and IT skills, including proficiency in software such as Outlook and Word.
- A creative flair for designing visually appealing displays and ensuring a professional presentation of retail spaces.
- Ability to work flexibly and effectively under pressure, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in recruitment and training, eager to guide and develop a high-performing team.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
