Overview:
First Military Recruitment Ltd is collaborating with a distinguished client in search of a Program Management Specialist to enhance their team in Enfield.
The Program Management Specialist will oversee customer-funded development and production initiatives within the organization. This role will focus on a select number of significant projects, where the Specialist will contribute to the bidding process and subsequently manage all facets of the project from contract initiation to the final acceptance of deliverables by the client.
Close collaboration with various departments, including Sales, Contracts, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Customer Services, Quality, and Accounting, will be essential to successfully execute this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Sales and Marketing in crafting bids for projects that require customer-funded development.
- Estimate program management costs for inclusion in proposals.
- Review incoming contracts to ensure project feasibility prior to final contract approval.
- Accept signed contracts from the Sales department for implementation.
- Plan project execution, working closely with clients to refine requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors regarding their roles in project execution.
- Review cost estimates and propose internal budgets for project delivery.
- Monitor project progress against established plans and budgets, maintaining an updated forecast of completion costs.
- Provide monthly reports on project progress and financial status.
- Engage with clients as necessary throughout project execution, organizing meetings to update them on progress as stipulated in the contract.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests for deliverable equipment.
- Manage logistics for the dispatch and delivery of equipment.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and trials of equipment as required by contract.
- Participate in weekly Production, Purchasing, and Shipping reviews to optimize actions and ensure timely outputs.
- Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be required, often with short notice.
- Perform any additional tasks related to this role.
Qualifications and Skills:
- HND or degree in Project Management or equivalent experience.
- APM qualification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a Project Management setting.
- Proven experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to manage budgets and provide accurate financial forecasts.
- Strong understanding of Project Management techniques, processes, and risk management.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites within the UK or abroad.
- Experience in program scheduling, report writing, and multitasking.
