Senior Flood Risk Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Flood Risk Engineer to join our team at Carrington West in Greater Manchester. As a Senior Flood Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for completing flood risk assessments for planning applications, surface water management plans, drainage impact assessments, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Write and review Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to business development by researching and identifying new clients and opportunities for the Flood Risk and Drainage Team.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget control.
  • Mentor and train junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Strong bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Well-established experience in Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.
  • Substantial experience in undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with NPPF (and/or TAN 15).
  • Good understanding of the workings of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures.
  • Full UK driving licence.
