Job Title: Aviation Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Manpower UK Ltd. As an Aviation Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for managing complex products from initial process and equipment concept into quotation and launch phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project manage complex products from initial process and equipment concept into quotation and launch phases.
  2. Manage multiple suppliers of tooling and capital to ensure timing and cost targets are met.
  3. Work with the AME team to create, develop, and test new processes and equipment.
  4. Lead the development of processes and the sourcing of equipment required to ensure quality, cost, and timing targets are met.
  5. Generate specifications and best practices that clearly define product criteria and requirements.
  6. Sign off new equipment, including management of run at rates and capability studies.
  7. Ensure products, processes, and materials are safe and complete health and safety documents are in place.
  8. Engage with cross-functional manufacturing teams to provide data and inputs for shop floor and manufacturing cell layouts, value stream map events, operator training, and capacity studies.
  9. Support product design in the development of components to ensure best-in-class design for manufacture.
  10. Produce process workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates to support commercial activities.
  11. Manage changes through the CR system and ensure timely submission and implementation.
  12. Support quality in the close-out of customer concerns and aid root cause identification.
  13. Manage equipment installation and contractors.

Requirements:

  1. Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st tier automotive supplier.
  2. Knowledge of the AIAG & VDA 7 Step structure for PFMEAs.
  3. Experience in automotive interior trim manufacturing processes.
  4. Experience of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing processes.
  5. Auto CAD advantageous.
