Key Responsibilities

  • Develops new content for complex and strategic proposals, combining pre-existing and tailored responses.
  • Utilizes sound judgment and investment knowledge throughout the RFP process, including research, writing, editing, and final production.
  • Advises sales teams based on the insights provided in the responses.
  • Ensures timely and accurate responses to inquiries, with a focus on quality control and review of peer submissions.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) across various business sectors.
  • Integrates personal industry and investment knowledge to accurately address detailed inquiries regarding investment options and service offerings.
  • Enhances the marketing impact of RFP responses through value-added suggestions.
  • Secures necessary approvals and maintains consistency across all responses.
  • Facilitates the integration of specialized responses into the content database as appropriate.
  • Ensures uniformity across sales channels by identifying standard and non-standard responses, working with SMEs to create new content when necessary.
  • Demonstrates professionalism by managing RFP completion and meeting both internal and external deadlines.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of Vanguard's products and services.
  • Conducts research on investments, fund performance, and other financial topics, coordinating with SMEs as required.
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and acts as a primary contact for internal and external partners.
  • Provides insights on investment options, incorporating relevant data as needed.
  • Collaborates with Vanguard's sales team to strategically position investment offerings and services.
  • Serves as a resource and backup for RFP leadership.
  • Assists in reviewing RFP drafts, managing the RFP queue, and liaising with sales professionals.
  • Mentors team members by exemplifying best practices in RFP processes.
  • Offers guidance and training to develop team capabilities.
  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring effective use of RFP software applications, including content databases and third-party due diligence tools.
  • Exhibits adaptability by managing frequent changes in workload and tight deadlines.
  • Strategically considers the most effective methods for fulfilling requests.
  • Employs strong time and project management skills, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Directs the RFP content manager and determines which responses should be added to the content database in their absence.
  • Participates in team presentations and collaborates with other departments as needed.
  • Engages in special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience, including prior RFP/DDQ/RFI experience; additional sales or client services experience is advantageous.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Vanguard's business, including fund and product capabilities is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of investments is preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and adapt to changing workloads and deadlines. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to engage with senior management across the organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong writing abilities are essential for developing professional content for the sales process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content management systems.
  • Understanding of prioritization and process improvement methodologies.
