Aon Underwriting Managers (AUM) provides underwriting and claims services for insurers, specializing in specific product categories and industry sectors. By focusing on commercial insurance products across various sectors, including Accident and Health, Property and Casualty, Financial Lines, and Marine, AUM functions similarly to an insurance company by underwriting risks, determining pricing, issuing policies, and managing claims handling.

About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Delegated Authority Underwriter to join our team. You will play a crucial role in assessing and managing a diverse portfolio of insurance risks across multiple lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new and renewal business for various lines of insurance, ensuring efficient processing.
  • Complete pre-bind and post-bind administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Process individual risks in accordance with Delegated Underwriting Authority guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of risk details within the Policy Administration System.
  • Collaborate effectively with brokers and internal teams to gather comprehensive risk information.
  • Develop strong relationships with the Global Broking Centre Team, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Refer complex risks to the insurer panel when necessary, ensuring appropriate coverage and expertise.
  • Actively participate in meetings to contribute to the success of our underwriting operations.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in underwriting support roles is highly desirable.
  • Minimum A-level standard or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and concise interactions.
  • Strong organizational and self-discipline, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional qualifications such as CII are an advantage.
