About the Role
Safran Nacelles is a leading manufacturer of aircraft engine nacelles, and we are seeking a skilled Customs Compliance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth import and export of aircraft parts, while ensuring compliance with international customs regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations related to import and export of aircraft parts, ensuring compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations.
- Support line manager with IPR procedures, including building the quarterly Bill of Discharge.
- Monitor and interpret changes in trade laws and regulations that impact the company's operations.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Review import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other necessary paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions on our Import Log and ensure data reconciliation with monthly reports from HMRC – MSS Data.
- Archive import and export documentation on SharePoint when required.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and other third parties to facilitate the smooth import and export of goods, including chasing supplier invoices and contacting fast parcel operators to resolve customs blockages.
- Communicate with internal departments, such as procurement, logistics, and finance, to ensure alignment on compliance matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or 3+ years of experience in a Customs Compliance, Freight Forwarder, or Logistics environment.
- Experience in Excel is essential.
- Experience in rules of origin, including Preference, and tariff classification is required.
- Experience in Export Control is desirable.
- Experience managing Inward Processing procedures, including Bill of Discharge, is required.
- Experience in SAP is an advantage.
- Experience of UK, EU, and USA Strategic import Procedures is required.
