Highway Drainage Engineer Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Highway Drainage Engineer to join a dynamic highways maintenance team in the East Anglia region on a long-term contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize practical knowledge and problem-solving skills to address highway drainage issues.
  • Familiarize yourself with maintenance of highway drainage and associated problems, with the ability to resolve such issues.
  • Understand statutory processes required to implement a drainage scheme, including working on private land and relevant discharge consents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Auto CAD, with the ability to use these tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of standard drawings and DMRB applicable to drainage works.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and standards in terms of drainage works and health and safety.
  • Ability to identify specific hazards associated with the construction of drainage works.
  • Capable of carrying out site surveys, including levelling works.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Instruct and supervise on-site CCTV survey/jetting works.

Requirements:

  • Practical knowledge of highway drainage and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance of highway drainage and associated problems.
  • Understanding of statutory processes and relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Auto CAD.
  • Knowledge of standard drawings and DMRB.
