About the Role

Acorns Children's Hospice Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Person Worker to join our Family Services Teams in our Walsall Hospice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support and advocacy to young people, helping them prepare for adulthood and transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the needs of young people within the hospice environment, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Work closely with young people to understand their goals and aspirations, and develop strategies to support their transition to adulthood.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver therapeutic-based support systems and initiatives to meet the needs of young people.
  • Contribute to the development of services for young people, including training programs, outreach work, and service evaluation.
  • Collaborate with other Young Person Workers across our hospices to share best practice and achieve organizational objectives.

About You

  • Professional qualification in a field such as Social Work, Community Nursing, Youth Work, Counselling, or Play Therapy.
  • Experience in youth-involvement work and providing therapeutic-based support for young people.
  • Ability to travel independently and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
