Position Overview: This role presents a remarkable chance to engage in the stewardship of our woodland assets, particularly within the Southern Lake District. The dedicated forestry teams are responsible for comprehensive woodland management, including tree safety assessments, boundary upkeep, and addressing challenges posed by tree diseases.

Key Responsibilities: As a member of our South Lakes team, you will be involved in managing properties across various locations. Your work will encompass a wide range of woodland management tasks, ensuring the health and sustainability of woodlands that hold international significance due to their unique habitats.

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Compensation: £23868

Contract Duration: Fixed for 12 Months

Team Dynamics: Our forestry team consists of five skilled individuals, each bringing unique expertise to the table. We foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment, where team members assist one another in achieving our forestry objectives across the Southern Lakes.

Daily Tasks: Your responsibilities will include a variety of woodland tasks, ranging from large-scale thinning operations to managing storm damage and repairing woodland boundaries. Tree felling and extraction will be regular components of your work, utilizing tractors and winches for timber movement.

Long-term Management: Woodland management will involve executing thinning operations aligned with our long-term management goals. Projects may vary in scale, from smaller sites requiring a few weeks of work to larger operations extending over several months.

Emergency Response: The team is also tasked with responding to emergency tree works, including storm damage assessments and repairs to fences and walls affected by trees.
