Criminology Graduate Opportunity

Academics Ltd is seeking a motivated and empathetic Criminology graduate to join our team as a Youth Worker in a challenging school setting. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with vulnerable young people and those at risk of offending.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a specialist school setting, working with students who have a range of trauma and mental health-based needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to students, helping them to overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.
The role is ideal for a Psychology/Criminology graduate who is looking to make a positive impact in the lives of young people. The career progression routes are to roles such as probation officer, youth offending teams, and youth counsellors.
The Provision & LSA RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping to raise attainment with students who have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) SEMH needs and associated learning difficulties. You will work closely with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed.
The school provides a range of practical, creative, and vocational subjects that spark joy for the students and help them positively contribute to society. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
The consultant working on this role has personally worked in a similar setting following university and can vouch that your experience will be rich and incredibly rewarding, but also very challenging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to students with SEMH needs and associated learning difficulties
- Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
- Assist with the delivery of practical, creative, and vocational subjects
- Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Criminology or a related field
- Experience working with vulnerable young people and those at risk of offending
- Ability to work in a challenging school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Salary: £85 starting pay per day PAYE, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
