This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving forward our strategic objectives for research and development, fostering a culture of innovation within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Research Team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of research projects.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, researchers, innovation specialists, and external partners, to cultivate a robust research ecosystem.
- Champion the development and implementation of research governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Identify and secure funding opportunities for research initiatives, leveraging expertise in grant writing and proposal development.
- Cultivate strong relationships with academic institutions and industry partners to foster collaborative research endeavors.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the research team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline.
- Extensive experience in research and development, including significant leadership experience at a senior level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NHS Scotland Leadership Qualities and NHS Forth Valley values.
- Proven ability to lead and manage research projects effectively and efficiently.
- Expertise in applying advanced analytics to support research endeavors.
- Strong understanding of complex research legislation, regulations, and ethical considerations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
