Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Education, Children and Families team, helping to deliver impactful research studies covering early years through to adulthood.

As an Associate Director, you will act as Project Director on Research & Evaluations, lead winning proposals, and support the team and wider management of the business.

  • Designing methods that meet client needs and mitigate limitations, providing high-quality and innovative solutions.
  • Delivering all aspects of the project lifecycle, from inception to design, analysis, and reporting.
  • Directing small to medium Research & Evaluations projects and managing large and complex ones.
  • Leading proposals and revenue generation, including pricing recommendations.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, internal and external suppliers, policymakers, stakeholders, and internal colleagues.
  • Supporting junior team members to develop their communication style and ensure professionalism.
  • Signing off deliverables that meet client and stakeholder objectives.
  • Effectively managing relationships with suppliers and internal operations colleagues.
  • Developing a strong understanding of client needs and seeking opportunities to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have excellent mixed methods research skills, strong project management skills, and experience in business development and managing client accounts.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly capable methods expert with experience in quantitative or mixed method research skills, business development, and client account management.

Good understanding of evaluation methodology and methods, ability to comfortably pick up projects and deliver day-to-day.

Experience writing winning proposals, including drafting costs.

Desire to work closely with clients to maintain and grow contracts.

Excellent management skills, able to lead multiple projects and support junior members of the team.

Ability to work to tight deadlines, deliver profitable work, and assure quality of all outputs.

Ability to understand and interpret complex data, draw out a clear narrative, and inform client decision-making.

Excellent client handling and supplier negotiation skills.

Confident and clear written and verbal communication skills.

Interest in the social issues affecting education, children, and families.
