Job SummaryThe Facilities Engineer will play a key role in supporting the site's footprint project, involving detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment. This fixed-term contract role requires an experienced Engineer with expertise in assembly line installations, service installations, factory layouts, line moves, and project engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct feasibility studies and initial proposals for industrial needs
- Develop 3D and 2D designs and layout drawings using CATIA and AUTOCAD
- Design and implement building services, including lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure, and vacuum services
- Install point-of-use services to assembly lines, including vac, electricity, air, and data
- Collaborate with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure compliance with current legislation
- Work with suppliers to develop technical and commercial solutions
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including manufacturing engineers, tooling, and HSE teams
- Plan and supervise the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
- Manage contractors to Safran and site SHE standards, including UK CDM legislation
- Produce technical data for training and handover to operations teams
- Support training and fault-finding on installed facilities post-commissioning
- Evaluate risks and implement mitigation measures
What We're Looking For
• Time-served Engineer with experience in assembly line installations and project engineering
• Good working knowledge of building services and CAD operations
• Qualified to HNC Mechanical Engineering
• Project management experience and good interpersonal skills
• Experienced user of MS Office package and IOSH Working Safely Cert
• Good working knowledge of building safety and risk analysis techniques
• Six Sigma green belt certification
