Job Responsibilities
The Facilities Engineer will work as part of the Facilities team to support the sites footprint project, involving detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment. This will involve developing the new layout configuration, working with the manufacturing engineering and the tooling team to optimize the layout and manage the procurement, installation, and commissioning of the infrastructure facility ready to move, commission, and handover the assembly line in its new location.
This fixed-term contract role would suit an Engineer experienced with assembly line installations, service installations, factory layouts, line moves, and project engineering.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Analysis of the industrial need, feasibility studies, and initial proposals
Detail 3D & 2D designs and layout drawings using CATIA and AUTOCAD
Building services, lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure, and Vacuum services
Point of use services to assembly line, vac, electricity, air, data
Working with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure compliance with current legislation
Working with suppliers to develop a technical and commercial solution to the above need
Working collaboratively with various stakeholders, (manufacturing engineers, tooling, HSE)
Strategic planning of new facilities to ensure alignment with future needs
Facility specifications for RFQ tenders and buy-off criteria
Ensure critical geometry is recorded prior to fixture moves
Planning and supervising the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
Full control of contractors to Safran and site SHE standards, including UK CDM legislation
Production of technical data to train and handover the asset to the operations team
Support on training and fault finding on installed facility post commissioning
Working closely with suppliers during installation and commissioning stages
Evaluation of risks and mitigation measures put in place

What We Need from You
Time served Engineer
Good working knowledge of building services
Experienced CAD operator 2D & 3D CATIA
Qualified to HNC Mech Engineering
Project management experience
Experienced user of MS Office package
Good interpersonal skills
IOSH Working Safely Cert
Good working knowledge of building safety
Six Sigma green belt
Risk Analysis techniques
Good analytical skills
