Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Technical Coordinator to join our team at Navis Consulting. As a Junior Technical Coordinator, you will play a critical role in coordinating the technical team and ensuring that our ships are kept supplied, stored, and maintained in accordance with our Quality System (SMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the technical team to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Source and purchase ship stores for Company vessels, always striving for good value and efficiency.
  • Monitor vessels' activities, locations, and requirements through effective communication and data analysis.
  • Arrange timely delivery of parts to the correct location by liaising with the vessel, port agent, and supplier.
  • Maintain the parts Ordering System in accordance with the ISM, ensuring it is kept up to date and accurate.
  • Communicate regularly with the ships relating to spares and stores ordering, and keep them updated with progress on parts requests.
  • Conduct vessel surveys and safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop relationships with chandlers, port agents, technicians, and local contacts as well as with local, national, and international suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical/engineering background with a minimum of [insert number] years of experience.
  • Sea-going experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ideal candidate will hold/have held an OOW Engine (III/1) COC.
  • Excellent logistical skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Pro-active and pre-emptive, always thinking ahead when planning maintenance/purchasing.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold a full UK driver's license and be prepared to travel.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
