Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a caring and committed professional to become a vital member of our Antenatal and Newborn Screening Division.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization meets the national screening benchmarks established and overseen by the relevant health authorities. The successful individual will offer specialized guidance and support to families, manage care pathways, and serve as the direct supervisor for the Newborn Hearing Screening team. They will be responsible for monitoring and delivering regular performance updates to both local and national entities. Additionally, they will oversee the reporting and investigation of any significant incidents or near misses, ensuring that necessary adjustments to practices or training requirements are identified and addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of a high-quality antenatal and newborn screening service for our patients and their families.

• Collaboratively lead the antenatal and newborn screening team, taking charge of the screening services, including the management of the Hearing Screening Team.

• Ensure a thoughtful and systematic approach to the administration, coordination, and governance of screening services.

• Advocate for equitable access for the community and, as part of the organization-wide screening team, evaluate services while demonstrating innovative project management capabilities in developing new initiatives.

• Serve as the clinical expert and knowledge resource for women, their families, and the multidisciplinary professional team.

• Provide leadership and expert counsel on clinical practices related to antenatal and newborn screening.

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, the Regional Antenatal / Child Health Screening Lead, and external organizations.

• Assume responsibility for all clinical services, audits, monitoring, and training and development matters pertinent to national screening programs.
