About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Adult Nurse to join our team as a Student Midwife through our pre-registration BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme.
This innovative, flexible, work-based course is designed for qualified adult nurses who want to become midwives. It will develop your skills and knowledge so that you can become a responsive, confident midwife able to care for women and their babies.
The programme consists of 86 weeks in total, with eight study block weeks, and reading and professional development time included. During your clinical placements, you will be supported through online resources, discussions, group working and reflection sessions.
As a Student Midwife, you will work under the direction of a qualified midwife and be placed in various clinical locations to enable you to meet your practice requirements. Clinical placements include a community midwifery placement, midwifery led birthing unit, labour suite, antenatal clinic, a health visitor placement, and neonatal unit placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop your skills and knowledge to become a responsive, confident midwife
- Work under the direction of a qualified midwife
- Participate in clinical placements to meet your practice requirements
