We are seeking an experienced Operational Buyer to join our Commercial Services team at University Hospitals Dorset. As a key member of our Operational Purchasing Team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising colleagues who undertake operational buying for defined areas within the trust.
Main Responsibilities- Liaise with colleagues and suppliers to provide a highly professional and responsive buying service that meets operational requirements and supports patient care.
- Work closely with senior colleagues to ensure effective team management and coordination.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with public procurement processes and contract law principles.
- Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and work with a busy team.
- Proven experience of working in a purchasing and/or supplies function or transferable skills.
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) advanced certificate vocational level 3 or equivalent training and professional experience.
- Good keyboard skills with working knowledge of applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
