About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health Liaison Team at Royal Blackburn Hospital. This is a specialist role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly developed risk assessment and risk management plans to ensure the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Act as an advisory expert for the team on mental health-related issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Identify and address safeguarding concerns, adhering to local policy and procedures.
  • Conduct complex assessments and develop care plans that take into account the unique needs and circumstances of each service user.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act 1983 and subsequent amendments.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Recognized Core Mental Health Professional Qualification (e.g. RMN/Dip SW)
Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health problems and issues that impact upon people with mental health problems.
  • Detailed knowledge of the impact of risk and protective factors that affect people with mental health problems.
  • Knowledge of medication prescribed for management of mental health issues.
Experience
  • Post-qualification experience in clinical work with service users experiencing a range of mental health problems.
  • Experience of risk assessment and management.
