Job Title: Lecturer - English (fixed term)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer - English (fixed term) to join our team at Merton College. As a key member of our Foundation Learning Department, you will play a vital role in providing tutorial and pastoral care for learners with learning disabilities/difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tutorial and pastoral care for learners with learning disabilities/difficulties
  • Monitor work experience activities and take responsibility for study programmes
  • Act as a Course Leader and take part in curriculum planning and product development
  • Take an active role in student assessment and accreditation
  • Work successfully as part of a team and manage students with challenging behaviour

Requirements:

  • Qualified and experienced in working with SEND learners
  • Able to teach and communicate at a level appropriate to learners
  • Aware of the changing agenda for SEND learners in further education
  • Knowledge of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies in the post 16 sector
