About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at the British Red Cross. As a key member of our retail team, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and contributing to the success of our charity shops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the shop manager to develop and implement effective sales strategies, ensuring the shop meets its financial targets.
  • Work closely with the team to provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop, including stock management, visual merchandising, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Support the shop manager in managing a team of volunteers, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure they are equipped to deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Proven retail experience, with a strong understanding of sales strategies, customer service, and team management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and customers.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the shop.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and make informed decisions.
