Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Horizon Teachers. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students develop social skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student progress and adapt support as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices for supporting SEND students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly within an educational setting.
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent).
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting children with special needs.
  • Be adaptable and able to work effectively within a team.
