As a Technical Leader, you will play a pivotal role within the Technical Management team, contributing to the broader technical community aimed at achieving excellence and solidifying their position as a leading technical solutions provider in the UK.

Your responsibilities will include managing relationships with various stakeholders, both internal and external, including bid teams, commercial teams, operational teams, clients, consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers.

In this role, you will oversee and manage the effective delivery of design and technical management across multiple projects. You will lead the tender and pre-construction phase design processes, ensuring that design and engineering are rigorously evaluated within a collaborative framework.

The focus of this position is to establish projects technically and mitigate risks during the tender and pre-construction phases, thereby minimizing onsite engineering challenges and uncertainties related to design and costs.

A passion for complex engineering, design, and collaboration, along with outstanding communication skills, is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

  1. Assume overall technical responsibility for the pre-construction phase design processes within your designated region/projects, collaborating with clients, design teams, in-house bid teams, suppliers, and operations teams.
  2. Establish and monitor the technical strategy and deliverables plan for all projects within your region/projects, including conducting technical reviews and ensuring adherence to project lifecycle standards.
  3. Identify, manage, and mitigate design and technical risks throughout project execution.
  4. Engage relevant internal and external specialists at appropriate stages during bids and pre-construction.
  5. Ensure proper coordination and communication of designs.
  6. Understand and manage technical obligations under relevant regulations and safety acts.
  7. Ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  8. Oversee design development and integration of value engineering and change management.
  9. Assess project design needs, manage consultant deliverables, and align with pricing and procurement strategies.
