Role Overview

As a (Senior) Android Developer, you will focus on our SumUp Kiosk Android application. You will collaborate within a small, cross-functional team of skilled professionals dedicated to envisioning the future of payment solutions.

To excel in this position, you should be a product-oriented engineer, eager to understand the problem space and enhance the product for our merchants.

A commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement is essential. You will be expected not only to deliver features but also to engage in the decision-making process.

This role is based on-site, emphasizing the value of in-person collaboration and organic conversations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement significant and impactful features for the Kiosk Android application.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the SumUp SuperApp repository and enhance integrations between our POS Lite SuperApp and the Kiosk.
  • Assist in expanding the kiosk offerings into new global markets and regions.
  • Engage in pair programming, share knowledge, and mentor team members on best coding practices.
  • Proactively identify technical challenges and propose solutions to enhance the reliability, security, and maintainability of the codebase.

  • Proficient in Kotlin and the Android framework.
  • Passionate about rapidly developing exceptional products that delight customers.
  • Enjoys working on large-scale Android applications.
  • Experienced in integrating SDKs and APIs into Android applications.
  • Possesses strong writing skills and can effectively communicate ideas and designs.
  • Understands testing principles, knows what to test, and can write flexible tests that are resilient.
  • Values user interaction, usability, and the creation of aesthetically pleasing user experiences.
