This role is structured as a part-time job share, requiring three days of work each week on a fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborating with business partners to complete third-party merger inquiries during Phase I and Phase II (EU and UK) Working alongside Property Acquisition and Location Planning teams to evaluate competition law risks associated with grocery store site acquisitions in the UK Maintaining essential competition law compliance documentation, including risk registers, RACI matrices, policies, and guidance materials Updating training resources for e-learning, micro-learning, and in-person sessions related to competition law and Controlled Land Orders (CLO) Preparing dawn raid materials and training relevant teams accordingly Managing the competition law inbox, compiling data for Committees, and escalating serious issues to your line manager Assisting in the preparation of materials for UKLT and GRCC competition law Supporting and conducting competition law assurance activities Handling CLO requests from the Competition & Markets Authority and collaborating with Location Planning to gather necessary compliance information Providing ad hoc competition law advice appropriate to your skill level and experience Assisting the Competition Law & Regulatory Team and the Regulatory, Ethics & Compliance Director with various competition law and CLO mattersQualifications
Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad spectrum of UK and EU competition law issues, with a practical and business-oriented mindset. Strong ability to identify and navigate complex legal challenges, coupled with extensive knowledge of competition law. Self-motivated and capable of working independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, as the role requires building credibility with experienced internal and external stakeholders. Composed demeanor and ability to work effectively under pressure. In-house experience is preferred but not mandatory.Benefits
