Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and HCPC registered Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a specialized diploma or relevant postgraduate experience to become a vital member of our Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) Laboratory. Our facility is engaged in critical testing for stem cell and solid organ transplants, as well as post-transplant monitoring and immunogenetics assessments. We are committed to providing comprehensive induction and training, along with ongoing professional development to help you achieve your career aspirations. Holding a relevant scientific or specialized qualification in H&I, such as the BSHI Diploma or equivalent experience, will enhance your application.
Key Responsibilities
As a HCPC registered Clinical Laboratory Scientist within the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) sector, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting analysis, interpretation, validation, and reporting of results from specialized H&I investigations.
- Performing both molecular and serological testing related to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, immunogenetic services, and platelet and granulocyte immunology.
- Communicating specialized results to internal and external clinicians, healthcare colleagues, and scientific staff.
- Assisting with quality management initiatives within your laboratory section, under the guidance of senior personnel.
- Contributing to the coordination and supervision of laboratory activities, including the training of scientific and support staff.
- Providing operational coverage during periods of difficulty, with appropriate training and experience.
