Job Description

Job Title: Transport Operations Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Operations Coordinator to join our team at The Delivery Group Limited. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for managing all daily transport movements, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to our customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage all daily transport movements, including vehicle and trailer types, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct daily briefings and debriefings for drivers, ensuring all relevant information is captured and updated in our systems.
  • Update driver run lists and manifests, and complete administrative duties as required, including route sheets, driver time sheets, and IMC paperwork.
  • Monitor vehicle and trailer types, and amend as required due to operational needs.
  • Ensure all collections and deliveries are performed on time and in the most cost-effective manner, using our Fleet Trak system to track vehicles and support Client Services with ETAs.
  • Update our transport measurement system to ensure all relevant data can be measured by KPIs.
  • Ensure Industrial Relations are maintained, and good working relationships are fostered between Transport Controllers and drivers.
  • Ensure all drivers are wearing approved Company uniform and full correct PPE.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety Regulations are upheld at all times.
  • Manage driver daily vehicle checks and defect reporting, and liaise with Maintenance Service Suppliers.
  • Ensure vehicles and trailers are available for Planned Maintenance Inspections and MOTs, and are taken to the workshop on time.
  • Monitor PMI reports and MOT Prep reports for repairs not captured on daily driver checks.
  • Complete daily handover logs to ensure all issues are communicated to the next shift.
  • Complete any other duties as required by The Delivery Group Limited.

About You:

  • Excellent knowledge of all Vehicle Operator Licence requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of all EC and UK drivers hours regulations.
  • Experience of working as a Transport Controller/Co-Ordinator within a multi-collection environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to ensure total compliance while maintaining customer service levels.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage own workloads.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office systems and other office systems.
  • Strong communicator in both verbal and written English, with the ability to be polite and professional to external and internal colleagues.
