Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Natural Stone site in Halifax. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous running of our plant by eliminating downtime through safe and logical approaches to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on-site
  • Ensure the continuous running of the plant by eliminating downtime
  • Maintain and repair a variety of plant and equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems
  • Work at heights using ladders, cherry pickers, and scaffold towers
  • Interrogate and understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information and recommendations
Requirements:
  • Good working Electrical Maintenance & Engineering knowledge with some Mechanical Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Time served/apprentice, ideally trained in a similar position with appropriate Electrical Qualifications such as City & Guilds Electrical Engineering & 18th Edition
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
  • Practical hands-on approach and happy working in a dirty environment
  • Significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plant
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
