About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Lawyer to join our Finance team at AGS Airports. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong support for the legal team and business leaders, working closely with our Group Commercial Lawyer to provide general commercial legal advice, support, and assistance across the entire business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Contract Management: Provide accurate, relevant, and timely commercially pragmatic advice on various legal topics relevant to the business, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable laws.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, negotiate, and advise on a range of commercial contracts, taking account of and ensuring continued compliance with AGS's wider corporate governance, policies, and procedures.
  • Research and Analysis: Research and highlight general commercial legal issues related to commercial contracts, governance, and managing/mitigating related risk to assist AGS in achieving its wider strategic goals.
  • Issue Escalation and Solution Development: Identify and escalate issues of legal and commercial concern to AGS's Group Commercial Lawyer, and develop suitable related solutions.
  • Risk Management and Governance: Balance legal and governance risks with commercial needs, ensuring internal business teams within AGS understand and work within AGS's accepted risk profiles and related governance processes.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Support: Assist in the advice on general competition law, intellectual property, and data protection issues across the business.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Crisis Management and Support: Involvement and support during airport incident and crisis management situations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Support the writing and editing of commercial reports as required.
  • Customer Experience: Create great experience for all customers both internal and external by instilling high levels of customer service across our teams and the wider business.

Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: Legal degree level qualification or equivalent with experience (3 years post qualification) obtained in either private practice and/or in-house in a general commercial/corporate, regulatory, legal or compliance role.
  • Commercial Knowledge and Experience: General commercial, corporate, litigation, and/or property knowledge and experience.
  • Data Protection and Competition Law Knowledge: Data protection and/or competition law knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Professional Skills: Confident and professional individual who is able to work in a variety of different settings and situations, with strong attention to detail, logical reasoning, and organisational skills.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Proactive and able to work autonomously, but also able to work within a team and build relationships with other departments.
  • Problem-Solving and Influencing: Good problem solver and able to work with the business to provide practical, compliant, and timely solutions to issues.
  • Communication and Presentation: Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to deliver clear, practical advice to a wide variety of audiences.
  • IT and Digital Systems: Proficient in the use of IT/digital systems.
