About the Role
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Womenswear Designer to join our dynamic team in either London or Liverpool. This permanent role focuses on both speed-to-market and long-lead trend development for our own brand, 'V by Very'. You will be an integral part of the womenswear team, contributing across multiple categories as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on trends and product direction for both immediate market needs and long-term planning, encompassing various womenswear categories.
- Create compelling trend boards, color palettes, catwalk reports, and shop reports for multiple womenswear categories.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of fabrics and the ability to translate this knowledge into innovative trends.
- Possess expertise in color, graphics, and print, effectively incorporating these elements into clear and concise trend presentations.
- When required, take ownership of a specific womenswear product category, including independent research, product development, and range building in collaboration with the buying team.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is essential.
- Develop detailed design packs for seamless communication with the supply chain.
- Translate initial ideas and concepts into commercially viable designs.
- Collaborate closely with buying teams to ensure a cohesive and marketable collection.
- Work in tandem with the technical team, providing guidance to factories on fabric selection, fit, construction, and detailing.
- Source materials from the supply base and cultivate strong relationships with suppliers.
- Respond to sales data by designing commercially relevant and fashion-forward trends and ranges that cater to our customers' needs.
- Possess excellent presentation skills and confidently present designs in meetings.
