Ecological Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our dynamic Nature team at AECOM. As a Principal Ecologist, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the environment and delivering exceptional ecological services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support the preparation of high-quality bids and tenders for ecological services, including energy, defence, and water sectors.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and organization, ensuring necessary resources, budgets, and controls are in place to meet program and budget requirements.
- Deliver high-quality ecological consultancy and advisory services to internal and external clients, including check and review processes.
- Support the development of technically robust and pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues.
- Lead the production of ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.
- Author or technically check project deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Experience in leading and managing ecological surveys, licensing, and impact assessments.
- Experience in work-winning, project management, and stakeholder discussions.
- Well-developed understanding of relevant wildlife conservation or habitat types.
- Membership of a professional institution and evidence of working towards Chartership.
- Excellent field skills in at least one specialist area, including protected species licences.
- A full driving licence and willingness to visit other locations on company business.
