Position Overview

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Specialty Doctor to play a pivotal role in enhancing services at Cygnet Hospital Churchill. You will receive comprehensive support from a Consultant Psychiatrist and a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

This is a full-time role, operating Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with on-call responsibilities including 1:5 weekday on-calls and 1:7 weekend on-calls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality treatment under the guidance of a Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Conduct assessments and mental state examinations for service users.
  • Engage in weekly ward rounds and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Attend Care Programme Approach meetings and mental health review tribunals.
  • Provide up-to-date clinical information during all meetings.
  • Ensure the implementation of medical decisions as planned.
  • Audit medical services to ensure compliance with GMC and other professional standards.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, contributing to service governance and development.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
