Advocate for Migrant Women

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advocate to join our team at Safety4Sisters NW. As a key member of our organization, you will provide critical support and advocacy services to migrant women who have experienced gender-based violence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality advocacy services to migrant women, including information, advice, and support.
- Undertake casework and advocacy, including liaison with relevant professionals and agencies.
- Provide practical support, such as accompanying women to appointments and courts, and making reports to relevant agencies.
- Write assessment reports and support letters, and assist in collecting evidence and statements.
- Undertake risk assessments for referral to Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs).
- Establish links with key partners to ensure effective referral routes and information sharing protocols.
- Assist in the running of the Lotus Hub, including covering the Helpline and providing follow-on advocacy to service users.
- Assist in developing and meeting quality standards in relation to advice and casework.
- Assist migrant women to access immigration advice and meet their housing needs.
- Undertake campaigning and policy work arising from the advice and casework.
- Support and mentor the Women's Council.
- Follow Safety4Sisters NW policies and procedures, and maintain IT and case file management systems.
- Contribute to Safety4Sisters NW record keeping and provide information for monitoring, evaluation, policy, and research and training purposes.
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure
- Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order)
- Open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1)
This is a full-time position, and the post holder may be required to work evenings and weekends. This time can be claimed back as TOIL.
