About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to our projects, ensuring that we deliver high-quality results while minimizing costs and maximizing value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all costs associated with our projects, including procurement, subcontract management, and final account settlement.
  • Prepare commercial sections of site start execution plans and collate tender packs for subcontractor work packages.
  • Negotiate and analyze subcontractor tender returns, producing tender recommendations for subcontract work package awards.
  • Complete subcontract orders and variations, as well as subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts.
  • Prepare and issue monthly HA valuations, cash flow forecasts, and key date trackers.
  • Responsible for project lead with HA, including robust cost reporting and budget control.

Requirements

  • HNC in Surveying or Construction or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within the Construction industry for a residential housing developer.
  • Excellent IT, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical ability and ability to assess and analyze information.
  • Good business sense and understanding of budget management.
  • Negotiating and networking skills, as well as COINs user experience.
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to work within a busy team and under pressure.
  • Good team working skills, accurate with an eye for detail, and a methodical approach.

Desirable Qualifications

  • HND or higher qualification.
  • Professional membership of MCIOB or RICS preferable or working towards such qualification.
  • National House builder experience.
  • Different methods of construction, i.e., Timber Frame.
