About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals at our school in Mitcham, CR4. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse educational needs, providing tailored support to enhance their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support:
    • Provide individualised or small group support to students, promoting their academic and social growth.
    • Encourage independent learning and resilience through structured activities and personalised guidance.
    • Create a nurturing environment that boosts students' confidence and self-esteem.
  • Classroom Assistance:
    • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the unique needs of our students.
    • Help maintain a well-organised, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
    • Monitor and report on student progress to the teaching team.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Support students during transitions, breaks, and school outings.
    • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
    • Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an SEN setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach to working with students.
