Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a permanent Culinary Specialist at Ayrshire Central Hospital.

Working Hours:

This role requires 37 hours per week, spread over 5 days within a 7-day period. Flexibility is crucial, as candidates must be available to cover shifts between 0630 and 1800, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

The Main Kitchen at Ayrshire Central Hospital prepares and serves over 600 meals daily, catering to patient needs, including therapeutic diets, as well as providing meal services for staff and visitors. Additionally, we handle catering and hospitality for various meetings and events.

Your responsibilities will encompass the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals, including the preparation of therapeutic diets as necessary. You will also maintain high hygiene standards and monitor data for HACCP and Environmental Health compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ideal candidates should possess experience in catering, preferably within a healthcare setting, and hold relevant qualifications such as City and Guilds 706/1 or an S/NVQ along with a Food Hygiene Certificate.

Furthermore, the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team is essential, along with strong communication skills.
