Lead Clinical Manager for Learning Disability Crisis Response Team

The Learning Disability Crisis Response Intensive Support Team provides high-level support to individuals with Learning Disabilities living in the community who are experiencing a period of crisis related to complex mental health and behavioral needs.
We offer rapid assessment, support, and risk management to prevent placement breakdown and inappropriate psychiatric hospital admissions.
The team consists of experienced professionals, including Learning Disability and Mental Health Nurses, Support Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists. We provide a 7-day-a-week service, from 8 am to 9 pm, including bank holidays.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Governance Specialist to provide clinical and operational leadership and governance to the full team. The successful candidate will be passionate about the holistic needs of individuals with Learning Disabilities and have significant experience in Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) and Crisis Management in relation to mental health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and governance to the clinical and operational systems and standard operating procedures in the team to ensure patient referrals are triaged, risk assessed, risk managed, and allocated for further interventions.
- Provide clinical supervision to band 6 practitioners to ensure that the Learning Disability Services clinical care pathways are delivered to a high standard and hold oversight for the supervision of other team members.
- Hold a small caseload and ensure the Trust's clinical and operational policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented within the team.
Key Performance Indicators
- To ensure the delivery of a clinically effective service that meets the needs of individuals, families, and communities in line with local and national development plans, Trust policies, and procedures.
- To manage staff, budgets, staffing rotas, quality, and standards of practice of all members of the team by enhancing systems such as clinical supervision, personal development, and competency planning and monitoring, clinical audit, policy compliance checks, etc.
- To have overall responsibility to ensure that a personalized service to clients/service users is delivered in accordance with LPT Trust standards.
- To provide good leadership and management to develop and sustain a positive working culture.
- To ensure staff are trained appropriately to competently deliver the care required and ensure supervision and mentorship is in place.
- To be influential within the organization and provide detailed advice to others internally and externally to the organization, within their sphere of competence.
- To work collaboratively with other senior nurses across LPT as appropriate and promote the role of their specialty nursing to all stakeholders.
