Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and proactive Deputy Branch Manager within our organization. This role is pivotal in enhancing leadership and strategic management capabilities by assisting the Branch Manager in overseeing all facets of branch operations. The focus will be on achieving growth objectives while managing and mentoring team members to reach their training aspirations.
The Deputy Branch Manager will collaborate closely with the Branch Manager to uphold the highest standards of administrative excellence, ensuring the branch is structured to deliver exceptional service to our clientele.
In addition to leadership duties, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a customer portfolio, fostering relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction through outstanding service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management, development, and engagement of a team of Account Managers and their support staff.
- Act as a representative of the bank, identifying and acquiring new customers while effectively communicating our service offerings.
- In partnership with the Branch Manager, manage branch operations, including business planning, development, credit, risk management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to the bank's credit policies, guaranteeing fair treatment for all customers.
- Drive profitability within the local market through effective business leadership.
- Implement the bank's operational model, products, and policies, ensuring alignment with credit and HR standards.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the local market and nurture relationships with professional partners.
- Support the introduction of innovative practices, products, and technologies to enhance efficiency and risk management.
- Lead the branch team alongside the Branch Manager to maintain high customer service standards and effective administrative practices.
- Conduct necessary reviews and evaluations to ensure compliance and operational integrity within the branch.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in banking, demonstrating strong leadership skills or significant potential for leadership. You will possess a solid understanding of people management principles and the ability to coach and develop team members to drive branch success. A proactive approach to setting clear objectives and planning effectively is essential.
We seek an innovative thinker who can build a sustainable future for the branch, leading the team towards ongoing success. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with the capability to work independently when necessary.
Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of the bank's operational model, products, and credit policies, as well as an understanding of the bank's values and core business focuses. Experience managing a credit portfolio through various economic conditions is advantageous. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, proactive, and committed to minimizing operational risks while collaborating with the Branch Manager.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building effective relationships with staff, customers, and external professionals. A sound understanding of the business landscape and banking markets is required, with a preference for candidates familiar with the local area.
As this role involves managing a customer portfolio, a proven history in relationship management and business development is necessary. Experience with lending and security documentation is also required. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, is essential, with training provided for internal systems.
